THANK YOU!!!!! I am soooooooo sick of this double standard with the black race-- if you watch the Wire, that's all they call eachother is ******. So WHY is it okay for them to use it to eachother but it is a major faux pas if any other race uses the word? You dont see Jewish people calling eachother kikes, or Polish- polaks, Germans -krauts, Chinese-chinks, Puerto Ricans-spics, etc, etc. This is a multiracial, multicultural world and if YOUR RACE ENJOYS calling eachother a ******, and use it so proficiently, then you are opening pandoras box to allow everyone else to use it, whether it is acceptable to you or not- by the way, I dont particularly care to be called a "cracker" but at least I dont go around calling other white people this.

Are you stupid? while Chris Rock makes exciting of white human beings that's all in exciting and not coming from a disrespectful place. There are white comedians who're no longer avoided while they make jokes approximately Black human beings with the aid of fact returned that's all and exciting and is no longer thoroughly disrespectful. even nonetheless Micheal Richards sat there and observed as some black human beings contained in the objective marketplace the N be conscious. Are you stupid sufficient to think of that it is the samething?

People should be allowed to say what they want. Whoever disagrees also disagrees with our freedom of speech.
However, with that right comes a responsibility to not say certain things to be considerate. You do make a point, since the two guys called Richards a "Cracker-***." Richards is white and whites have a history of hating blacks, so that's why he got "blackballed."
African-Americans don't use that word to offend other African-Americans about the fact that they're black. It's socially acceptable that they use that word.. live with it.

Ha ha 'blackballed'. Did you see the tape? It's the way he said it, how he repeated it, how loud he was, and who he is- you have a certain responsibility when you are identified with a character like that.
I wanted to defend him, but did you see the video? First of all- IT WASN'T FUNNY! Yes, blacks do the reverse too often, but Richards was 100% anger. Now think of it this way- if we all just said "hey, it's cool", what would that say about how we as a majority treat minorities? It's not very inclusive, is it? You dont' want to walk around treating minorities that way, really, do you?

It's not the word so much as the connotation behind it. When black comedians say it they are talking in a brotherly fashion. When Michael Richards yelled it at those people heckling him he meant it to be most derogatory and insulting way. That kind of behaviour is just not on.

because when blacks do it ! its a positive spin on a negative.
When Michael richards did it. it is a negative on negative with hate.
but then again to SAY he is a racist is a judgment that can only be proved if he shown to be a KKK member. or if any other witness heard him say such in privacy.
as to your statement about censorship and bondage and oppression of the freedom to Speak, and have fraternity! well, you crossed the line in my opinion.
i watched the show on CNN where Glenn Beck said the same thing. He is not always TRUE to the gospel with his opinions. His judgments and conclusions are likewise NOT always true to scripture and the spirit of God

You idiot, did you hear the connotations in which Richards used it? Totally different than when black comedians do it. And even without his use of the word, he started his off his rant by saying that "50 years ago you would be hanging upside down with a fork up your ***". That crosses the line from racial humor to straight up racism. If you can't see the difference you are mentally retarded.

Listen to the redneck; it is how he said it, not what he said. If a black person used it in such a hateful way it would not be taken any better. Anybody not blinded by their own stubborness and hate could see that clearly. Think your arguments through before you throw some questions out, because this is no hard puzzle to figure out.

Same reason Sarah Silverman can make holocaust jokes, but gentiles can't. I guess it's about owning your own oppression or something like that? Lenny Bruce had a few choice words to say about all that.
