There is a way to do it, I just forgot how I did it before. So now I need a smart person to remind me how to do it.

I'm trying to rename all my photos

The files are on my computer. I'm trying to rename them as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5..... so that I can put them in one folder...I have a lot of pics that have the same name in different folders and I want to put them all in one folder but don't want it to over ride another photo with the same name.

If you have Photoshop, you can run a Batch Process and rename each photo in a sequential order.

Are they already on your hard drive or are they on a digital camera before being downloaded to the hard drive? If it's on the digital camera first you'll have to consult the owner's manual. If they're on the hard drive you have to name it manually. I find it better to arrange them by subject in separate folders first. Then do a save as and rename them. It's better to add a zero before the single digit numbers otherwise you'll have it run differently. Say you have twelve pics, it'll run
picture1
picture11
picture12

but if you fix it it will run as:

picture01
picture02
picture03, etc.

Upscaling from 287 to 600 isn't surprisingly. it extremely is a 430% improve in length... for photos.. yeah, you're actually not likely to be happy with the outcomes. Photoshop: image > image length, substitute long side to 600 image > Canvas length, substitute the quick end to 600 automatic technique? you are able to report > Scripts > image Processor to get the image length on all of them resized, yet i'm no longer specific related to the canvas length. After the reality, you are able to batch rename utilising Bridge.

either look for batch filename converters
or
you can do it in XP by changing the view of the folder to details, then selcting all the files then clicking on f2 - type in the new file name (whilst all the files are selected) the rest are numbered sequentialy automatically

well where are you getting the pictures from. the key is to get them saved to the computer the right way when you move them from the camera or whatever it is. you can set up most programs to name the pictures certian ways. as far as what is on your computer now. you will have to name them one by one... kinda like your blessings.. LOL... I tested Cool Clearwaters answer and it works ... cool.

On flickr you could edit as a group. You didn't say where the photos are and what software you are using!

GOD i wish there was... but as that person before me said - only if its not already on the hard drive... there is usually a way to set it before you copy it into the drive.
