It looks like my parents have decided on a Gibson Baldwin Music Education Talen 41" Acoustic Guitar for me, with bag, strap, picks, xtra strings, and an insructional DvD, for 100$, is that any good? I know its sad my parents decided, but, I am wanting to seriously play, not just fiddle around with it.

baldwin and gibson have merged? I thought Baldwin was a piano company. I know Gibson guitars because I have quite a few but your question is confusing.

No, the guitar is not really very good. Contrary to what I posted on a similar question, it was Baldwin and Fender that merged along with the Gretsch name in 2003. This info is straight from The 2007 edition Blue Book of Electric Guitars.

Anyone that told you that Baldwin has anything to do with Gibson is pulling your leg.

Sorry to break it to you bud, but if its $100, its probably from Wal-Mart. Which means its not good AT ALL!
