Right click the "e" internet explorer icon on your desktop.

Choose "properties"

Click "clear history"

While you are there go ahead and click "delete cookies"

Then click "delete files" -----> When you click "delete files" a box will pop up and click the box that says "delete all offline content"

This is for Windows XP

Hello there
If you are using Internet Explorer near the top of the window on the option bar click the menu Tools and go to Internet options. You will find in the general tab options where you can delete your cookies, histoy of visited web pages and temporary internet files.
If you are using Mozilla Firefox:
Near to the top of the window click on the Tools option and go to Clear Private data. A window will appear and you can check the boxes selecting the information you want removed
If you are using Internet Explorer 7, now called Windows Explorer:
On the same line of tabs on the right, there is a picture of a cog and next to it it says tools. Go to the bottom option where it says Internet Options and where there is a picture of a clock there it says Browsing history and you can clear out your private data from there.
Hope that proved more than useful. If in any doubt, go to the internet help options and your problem should be listed
Cheers
Laura

If u have Mozilla Firefox, then u go to Go then History, or Control+H, then u have these folders that say today, yesterday, etc. Right click on them and select delete. If u have Internet Explorer 7, then it is next to the back and forward buttons at the top left corner. Then click the little arrow and select history. Then select the folders and press delete.

Its a little slow but here's how you can do it First type "a". Let the history turn up in the drop down list. Then select each of them (using your arrow keys) and hit the "delete" key. Keep doing this for (individual characters a-z, 0-9). It should mostly be case insensitive, otherwise you have another set of characters to delete. Hope this helps.

all of the answers are there now, but none are complete, you need to clear all IE cache, and history as described, and also empty the autocomplete as described by spud.

It was nice to see that the whole answer eventually appeared, now stop visiting sites you don't want others to know about
