Try the Disney Fairies Series, The Royal Diaries Series, The Gossip Girls, Dear Dumb Diary... If she's interested in magic, try Harry Potter or Eragon. Also, American Girl and Klutz books would be interesting. I'm 10, and these are the books that I enjoy! Good Luck, and Happy Holidays!

Well this isn't a diary or girly book. But the Harry Potter series is a must read for everyone.

American Girl has a series of books that are pretty good, and AG's are still big with girls of that age group.
Harry Potter and Lemony Snickett are hits with that age group, as are the Chronicles of Narnia (an excellent series I still read every few years).
For somthing different, look at the fun poetry of Shel Silverstein-- my 11 yo neice loves his stuff... he has several books out--all good.

Judy Blume books are great for that age...ie: Are you there god, it's me Margret? Fudge. Tales of the 4th Grade Nothing. I thorougly enjoyed these books when I was that age. Another great set is the Babysitter Club books. My younger sister loved those.

I suggest Beverly Cleary books---she wrote a bunch of them!
They even come in box sets---get one of those, she will LOVE it.
Or the Laura Ingalls Wilder books--
Little house on the prairie, Little house in the big woods, ETC
Did you know those are true stories?!!

She would probably like the Baby-Sitter's Club series, and maybe the Anne of Green Gables series; I read those at around that age :)
