Sin is a term used mainly in a religious context to describe an act that violates a moral code of conduct or the state of having committed such a violation. In monotheistic religions, the code of conduct is determined by God. Colloquially, any thought, word, or act considered immoral, shameful, harmful, or alienative might be termed "sinful".

Is it a sin to be a closed-minded moron? Are you going to hell for living life like that? I hope so...

LOL, As someone who has been a Muslim for the past 15years, I think that I can answer this one easily. NO! That is at least from my viewpoint. I can't count the number of times that I have been told that I am going to hell from some "religious" person.
If sin is define as doing something that is against the Almighty, then we are all sinners in some way, shape or form. This is because no one is perfect.
Is just being a Muslim reason enough to be called a sinner. No, but perverting the message of your religion to cause harm to another is. This applies to Muslim, Christian, Jew, Hindu or any other religion that is out there. I am a student of history, not the watered down stuff that they teach in school, but old fashion, visit
the places and do your own research type of history. How many people have been killed because they don't subscribe to the religion of those in power. Not to pick on Christianity, but I point you to the crusades and the inquisition. Even the atrocities committed in Europe during WWII had their roots in religion. Most religions are about a belief in a supreme being, one who has the power of life and death and making our mundane lives worth while. When we allow hate to become the ruling theme, that is truly a sin!

As far as I am concerned the answer to your question is YES. Being a Muslim is a sin. I have no religious beliefs (but I believe in God) so I can speak with total frankness. I do not preach Christianity nor Judaism but I can tell you this. Neither religion deals with Jihad and tells able-bodied believers that they are OBLIGATED to join (Surah 2:216) and that the text orders Muslims to "instill terror into the hearts of the unbeliever" and to "smite above their necks" (8:12). The test of loyalty to Allah not good acts of faith in general, but martyrdom that results from FIGHTING unbelievers (47:4)--- the only assurance of salvation is Islam. And does Islam advocate the expansion by force? You bet it does. The final command of Jihad as revealed to Muhammad in the Quaran is to conquer the world in the name of Islam (9.29).
Islam is the only religion with a doctrine, theology and legal system that mandates warfare against unbelievers. This means warfare against all other religions in the world. YES, BEING A MUSLIM IS A SIN.

To judge other people is a sin. To determine that someone is sinning, is a sin. To spread bigotry and anger through Biblical quotes is the defile the word of God...congratulations, I think we are all sinners, but you do it rather well.

Being a muslim is not a sin, however if one does not believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord God and Savior then they will not enter the kingdom of Heavon. So muslim will be hanging out a in very hot place when they die unless to realize the error of their thinking.

Determining the sin - you are right, but prescribing it to (only) muslins is a grater sin or hypocrisy. Since we (Christians) made more sins (killing ) than anybody else.
