Sure, why not celebrate it for the heck of it. I'm American, and I'm not sure about the history of the holiday. And sometimes I celebrate it in the traditional fashion (turkey, etc.), but sometimes I don't celebrate it at all. Didn't do it this year. Also passed up an opportunity to watch a cable TV show on the history of the holiday. I think it was on the History Channel. Hey, maybe next year. Hope you took the opportunity to celebrate and enjoyed it. You know, to sort of fill in for me, seeing that I didn't celebrate this year.

I wouldn't. You have to learn the history and customs of a tradition or holiday before participating in it. by not investigating the true history behind a custom, you may end up being the "sacrifice" and offered to Satin (lol). Keep in mind that Thanksgiving is an American holiday. American beliefs and customs may be offensive andl disrespectful to your country.
My suggestion: If you have to celebrate the holiday, do it privacy. That way you won't have nothing to worry about. If you go all out and have a Thanksgiving parade, you might end up Al Quaida's next video shoot begging for your life. I live in America and I don't celebrate thanksgiving because I know and understand the history of this holiday and don't agree with it at all.

Thanksgiving is celebrated to remember the people who settled America from the East. The Pilgrims and other who came from Europe and other parts to come and settle in the land of the free. Some came to freely practice religion and others to start anew. It is a time to remember our forefathers and the accomplishments they have done for us. It is fine to enjoy the food and the company of others on this holiday.

I don't see why not. The holiday is about being thankful for what you have, and spending time with family and friends. I don't think you need to be an american or a canadian to celebrate (Canada celebrates in October.) It's about enjoying life, so go out and celebrate :)

People all over the world celebrate Thanksgiving. You do it by thanking God Almighty for his love and blessings. And if you have some money, you but some nice food to share with others.

No, not at all. It is never a good idea to take part in something when you have no idea why you are doing it. Thanksgiving means something special to americans, it was the time that we thanked the Lord for plenty and the indians for helping us settle in and become prosperous. This would mean nothing to a Frenchman who just wanted to celebrate the holiday.

I think so. The whole point of Thanksgiving is to be thankful for your blessings whether you live in the USA or Bagdad or anywhere. It's the reason not the time or place.

It's okay, but they should remember the real meaning of Thanksgiving which is to be thankful for all that you have.
