I thought she said she did not break up with him and that it was just rumors.

Aside from rumors, I'm not sure how you would know. Something like that would be reported on every major media outlet, seeing as how Oprah is one of the most famous people in the world. The news that she had split up from her longtime companion/live-in boyfriend would be HUGE! At the very least, there would be something on the news about how "a spokesperson for Ms. Winfrey denies that she has split from her longtime boyfriend...", etc.
Bottom line: They have not separated.
