I'm thinking of getting a sailboat and cruise for a while. How cheap can it be?

We cruise aboard our 27-footer ($24k to buy) for three weeks to a month every summer in Cape Breton's Bras d'Or Lakes.
. Here's our list. ($CDN)
Marina fees (1-2 days per week)- $50-$100
(While there, re-freeze ice bottles and get ice cubes!)
Fuel- $30/month
Groceries- $100/wk
Beverages and entertaining- $100/wk
Laundry- $10/wk
Dining out while in port- $60/wk (Do NOT skimp on this one, trust me!)
Rough total- $1510.
Adds up pretty quick, doesn't it?

It really depends on where you are cruising, and how you want to cruise. Anchoring? Marinas? Cruising permits? Mooring fees?
You could probably cruise the Philippines for about 10 Euros a day / person. Greece would be several times this.

depends on your food storage area, and of course what you mind and don't mind eating, I saild once from here to tampa and my food store ran out about Cape may I was only in a 26ft though but then I learned to buy more efficient and forget the snacks and the wants when I pulled into the keys I still had stores left so it is not a question that can be really answered but by you

Its all up on your standard of living. I know people staying out a long time for hardly nothing. Myself I would probably use
close to 2000 dollars. Thats incuding fuel for el. Love air cond.

It all depends on what you want to take on board, what foods you like etc. but if you want to be really cheap.... catch your on food and take only the bare essentials that you'll need!!!
