If you have sex the day before your period starts, can the sex make it come a day earlier?

Yes it can as it disturbs the lining of the uterus, which is called the endometrium, and which is what actually comes out during your cycle-but many other things can make a person start early too. Among them are stress, unbalanced diet, unbalanced exercise, not enough rest/sleep, smoking, caffeine, alcohol/drugs, prescribed medications,infections, endometriosis, just to name a few. If you are having messed up cycles for two months or more it might be a good idea to get a doctor to examine you to rule out any medical problems. By messed up, I mean skipping cycles, more than one cycle in a month, severe cramps or heavier than usual bleeding, bleeding that starts and stops and starts again over the course of a day or more, sharp pain in your abdomen to either side above where your fallopian tubes are, clots when you first start, or passing dark/almost black "blood" etc, anything way out of the ordinary should be checked out. Most females do not start same day every month, so unless you are always like clockwork then you may not actually have started a day early.
