Tell me about it. They fall in love - big deal, they have a child - big deal and now they got married - so what? Do people really care? It is all fake anyway. What is next? An other baby and then divorce?

All the girls are sad about Tom Cruise getting married. All the boys are sad about Katie Holmes getting married.
Seirously, Tom Cruise's religious views have set him in an awkward view. Also, a lot of people doubt that the relationship will last, so......I don't know.

Because people want to avoid the real news in the world! I think we may be at war and oh yes there may have been some soldiers die for our country that day. But who cares TomKat got married!

Because people think it's just for show. A publicity stunt. And if it is, then, well they sure are getting a lot of publicity, so I guess they win either way.
