This time last year my son, who was then almost 4, was finishing chemo for a Wilms Tumor. This year he is cancer free!
I am thankful that all 3 of my kids are happy and healthy once again. ; )

This has been the most wonderful Thanksgiving. My brother in law has been on dialysis for about a year waiting for a kidney transplant. He has some kind of disease that his mother died from and is hereditary in his family. He got a call this morning that they had one for him.
He went to the hospital for all the tests. We missed them at dinner, but were so relieved. The next thing we knew my sister called and said they were coming over. He could eat and they'd let him know if all the tests came out good. He got the call. He's getting the transplant at 7am tomorrow morning.
He also got to spend Thanksgiving with all of us. I am so happy for him. This Thanksgiving my family has something really major to be thankful for.
He almost got a transplant around last Christmas, but somehow the kidney got put on the wrong plane and never made it here. Do you know how depressing that was for all of us? This time someone is in the same hospital, brain dead from a motorcycle wreck. I feel so sorry for that guys family. It's got to be terrible for them. I'm sure this is their worst Thanksgiving ever, but I try not to think about that. My brother in law was second on the list. Another lady got the first kidney. I hope the other family feels good in knowing that they helped at least 2 people live a little longer.
I think this happening on Thanksgiving Day really gave us alot to think about and I know it gave us a lot to be thankful for. I'm pretty sure this will be one of the most memorable Thanksgivings that I'll ever have.

MY health and the health of my family. I worked 12.5 hours today in a very unfortunate setting, and was away from my family until tonight, but my day certainly made me appreciate my life and the family that I have. My job shows me there is much more that I am can be thankful for, each day, it makes me more and more thankful for what simple things we do have and to not take little things for granted. I work in a jail!

I am very thankful for my life. I had cancer surgery 6 months ago, and I am cancer free--to my knowledge. We really never know for sure. You can have it somewhere and not know it. I have a wonderful husband and family. I'm 55 years old and never had a better life. Thank you for asking.
