Not now. I was though until my late 20s.

My parents are both far right Republicans and I am a far left Democrat, as well as, my sister.

It is difficult sometimes with my mother because she has always enjoyed discussing politics. We always try to agree to disagree. I do give her credit that we differ on fundamental issues and not fly off the hand stuff. Like we had an in-depth discussion a couple months ago about my being pro-regulation and she wasn't.

My sister and I sometimes talk about how my mother holds her beliefs. You see, our mother is the most intelligent woman, well person, I have ever known. It amazes us that she is a Republican.

With that said, in deep discussions, my mother, being over 60 does still hold some old anti-communist thoughts from growing up in a childhood where everybody thought they needed a bomb shelter. lol I kind of credit her views on that old-school mentality.

Great Q: In my case yes, but not because it was the way I was raised. My parents always encouraged me to think for myself and make my own judgments regarding my political beliefs.

When it comes down to it, I am a socially liberal fiscally conservative Democrat and very proud of it.

No. I am a Democrat, my father and his whole family are Republicans, while my mother is not interested in politics (not sure about her family, we don't often talk about politics there.)

well my parents arent really political. My step father is a minister so he believes in helping everyone, which I am so not. And my mother thinks that toilet cleaners should be making really good wages for some reason, which I do not.
