Does it go by a huge amount of thumbs up in the answer?
I know I asked this question in the Y! Answers catergory, but it seems more lively here

Thank you for your question.
They are selected by Yahoo! Answers staff according to what they consider to be cool questions. I think they are selected from questions they manage to see as there are so many questions.
I have had an answer selected and most of the thumbs ups came after the selection of the answer for the segment.

I'm not sure about that. I know what you are talking about- that thing on the home page of answers that has like 5 questions that they think are really good. I read the 360 page and they seem to go around in different categories and pick someone that has asked a good question that they think alot of people will answer. I'm guessing it's someone at the Yahoo offices... Good ? though, I have wondered the same myself.

I've always wondered if those questions were actually from real Y! Answer users, or if it's just some fake questions from Yahoo.
I mean, seriously some of the questions I've seen are boring, and yet they get like 49 thumbs up? Please! Is anyone really that fascinated by the moon's lunar cycle? I don't think so.
I never see any of the fun, silly questions from P&S getting chosen as the "Best of". What a rip!

I think some of the leaderboard people have first chance or something, they make a lot of points. Or maybe the people at Yahoo! just decide which ones are most popular.

noo it's the person who asks the question if you want right now you can scroll don the list of answers and click the choose as best answer button near the answer and then it will become the best answer
