You are an idiot. How are you going to say that all Black women don't exercise?? You don't know me, I'm very athletic and in shape and so are a lot of my friends. You can't put that on the whole entire race because of some that you seen.

I really can't speak for all black women because reasons for weight gain varies with each woman. Mine came from not working out as much as I needed and eating out a lot. When I cook at home mostly and work out throughout the day (2-3 times a day), I can slim down pretty quickly. Also, I have a sedentary job so that doesn't help a lot but weight creeps up on you. I just don't realize how much I'm gaining usually until I go to the doctor. I can't speak for every black woman. Some are depressed, feel defeated, some use obesity as a shield from sexual predators in their environments, some truly just don't feel being fit would change their opportunities in life for the better, some just don't care about their looks at all.

The sad truth is that some Black women love their bodies so much, that they see no need to work out. Then there are some that just choose not to work out because they are extremely worried about their hair getting messed up. Some Black women would have some really fancy hairstyles and they would actually stay out of the gym to avoid "sweating it out". I go to the gym at least three times a week, though. I also keep my hair done simply all the time, so I don't have to worry about messing up my hair. And I doubt whether it's actually THAT small an amount of Black women that don't work out.

You are kidding right? Many of us exercise regularly and are in excellent health and shape. My mom is in her 70s and goes to Curves to exercise no less than 3 days a week. The other Black women I work with are toned and in great shape. I do not know where you live or what you see, but it is apparent that you do not see that many Black women. You are correct about one thing, we are hotties!

I've seen a lot of thin black women, and if a black women is over weight it is usually okay because for some strange reason they can still look good. I'm jealous because if I gained weight I'd be less attractive, but if a black woman gains weight she is still pretty. Not fair!

Pull your head out of your butt. Obesety is now in epidemic proportions in the United States. And guess what, Mr Bigot? It isn't found only in black women. Open your eyes! You are a racist, otherwise you would not have singled out black women. I guess that makes you a sexist, too. You are only seeing what you want to see. Obesity has nothing to do with race and everything to do with North American culture.

That's such an idiotic generalization. Obesity is increasing for practically every ethnic/racial group in the U.S... not just blacks/African-Americans.
As far as I see, "some" black men prefer other races/ethnicities, others appreciate women with flesh on their bones.
I don't see why this concerns you. If you don't like it.. , no one's forcing you to date them. There are lots of [white/black/other] men out there who still appreciate them..

Obesity is growing among most people - black women don't work out?? I haven't noticed. Do you work out?? Are you hot?? I'm slim and white, but don't care an ounce about how fat people are becoming - it's their choice.

i am a black woman and I'm not overweight at all I'm 5'10 and 145lbs. I'll tell you why black women don't eat right and exercise..its a cultural thing, they are hard headed, some of their men may like them big, self esteem issues, most of them won't listen to a dr until its too late, and some women are just lazy. but i get talked about quite a bot bc I'm small. as a matter of fact my husband would like me to GAIN some weight!!as a teen i was told by balck men that i didn't have enough weight on me, anyway there are several reasons. but like you i am worried about our health as a whole. But me im healthy, i walk, ride bike, do cardio..eat balance meals. i do all that bc i love my self and my body.you may need to move to another state to find some skinny black girls.
