Depends on the job - if its at a strip club, the dress better be short and tight.
Office job - get a dress suit or pant suit - black or dark grey is good and will go with lots of colored shirts, so you can wear it a lot. Length should be just above or below the knee - no thigh high mini skirts.

The advice everyone gave you was pretty good.
In the courses I taught in this subject, I said
there were five rules when dressing for interviews.
1. Don't dress better than the interviewer will.
2. Be clean--if your hair, nails and exposed skin
don't look clean, that's all the interviewer will notice.
3. Wear clean clothes, neat and business-like.
(Trousers and a long-sleeved shirt, for men, the
same for women, because dresses and skirts distract,
is best). If the male has a tie, make it solid color and dark.
4.Many places won't accept pierced nose, ears,
etc; they'll have to put up with normal beard, mustache,
etc., however.
5.If you're female don't overdo makeup or perfume or
powder or accessories.
If you're a guy, same advice--scent is good,
causing the interviewer to keel over isn't.

No dress...you should wear a pants suit. Now-a-days that's what women wear in the professional world. Skirts are not as common as they used to be...I never heard of any women wearing dresses for an interview.

Look professional!, people tend to dress up like they are going to a party...
If you are a male:
1-Suit (dark)...tie with solid colours, do not wear tie with distracting prints or colours.
2-Groom your hair, clean your nails and make sure to be shaved.
3-Yes..interviewer will check your shoes..so formal dress shoes.
If you are a girl:
1-If you do not have a suit (skirt or pants suit) then make sure to wear something plain and simple.
2-Blouse should have a neck...and if you could long leaves...make sure your cleavage is not exposed..pants or skirt is your choice. Make sure they are not tie to your body and wear a skirt that will cover your knees..please
3-nails clean and if you wear polish, please nothing crazy, like black or too red
4-Your hair..if you cannot tie it back, make sure is clean, do not put colour pins or anything shinning on your head.
5-Please avoid excess of jewels...big chains, neck-less, bracelets...don't wear gold from head to toe.
Go simple...small earrings...a watch and a simple neckless will go with any outfit.

Wear a dark calvin klein suit, a pastel YSL shirt with a dark silk checked tie. Dont forget the cuff links. Splash on some dolce and gabbana. sling on those shiney black square toe shoes...make sure your toe nail isnt crispy!! Get your hair sleeked back not bouncy!! And your hand nails cut short and clean from grit. After spending a good £300.00(pls note I'm from the UK), If you are not selected come and see me!!!!!!!!!!!

First impressions are very important. So don't wear anything to flashy, to short, or showing to much cleavage. Even wearing a nice blouse and a skirt to match, is appropriate. Like business attire style.

You don't need to wear dress to an interview...You can as well wear a skirt and a decent blouse, or a deux-pieces...

as a general rule you should wear something a little better than what you are expected to wear to the job that you are interviewing for.
if not sure stay on the Conservative side.

An "office" get up. Simply cut skirt and blouse. or dress. You may add a blazer to make you look more businesslike. No frills, mini skirts, sleeveless or flaunty apparel.
