how long does a wife put up with no sex from her husband? We have been married for 11 years and it started about five years ago. It is not a medical problem, he has been to the dr. I am lucky to have sex with my husband once every three months. It has been really hard for me to deal with this because I have a strong sex drive. he is not seeing anyone else. please help me decide what I should do! I am in my thirties.

He needs to have his testosterone level checked some men especially those over 45 have low testosterone levels whichis the direct corolation to the sex drive.
This is the absolute first thing that needs to be checked b4 anything else. No testosterone = no drive
And if thats the problem its a fairly easy fix

Unless you are 100% sure he's not cheating (he could be and you are in denial, it is quite common and some men are pro's at hiding the fact), you may want to bring some toys in to the bedroom and try some games or experimentation. It may be a mental thing.
Otherwise, if he is on any medication at all, side effects can include the lack of sex drive.
Feed him almonds!!! That may work too. They are supposed to get things going!

Give him an ultimatum in a very loving way. Tell him you both need to go into counseling together to get to the core issues. A guy just doesn't stop having sex with his wife because he's content in the relationship. There's something going on, and if he won't tell you, maybe a therapist can get it out of him. Honest, open communication is what's needed here. Tell him if he doesn't go to counseling with you, you'll be forced to make some very difficult decisions regarding your relationship.

I think that you are describing a conditions known as Inhibited sexual desire (ISD). The person with ISD fails to initiate or respond to their partner's desire for sexual activity.
ISD is a very common sexual disorder. The most common cause of ISD seems to be relationship problems wherein one partner does not feel emotionally intimate or close to their mate.
Communication problems, health problems such as depression, insomnia, excessive stress.
Treatment is required by the professional therapist and it depends on the eliminating causes listed above.

I think that you need to have a serious talk with your husband. Tell him that you are not at all satisfied with your sex life. Find out if there is anything that you can do to help him to want more sex. I would say that if he is unwilling to change or do something, it's time to consider your other options.

Ive dealt with it through alcohol and the computer at night. During the day my wifes busy at work or with the kids until bedtime (9 or slightly later). Either you deal with it somehow or get out. PS...just 3-4 beers when i feel like it, dont push problems constantly, everything in moderation.

It could be a psychological and emotional thing with men so now that you've ruled out medical issues you may need to pay a visit to the shrink to find out if what your husband is dealing with is more mental and emotional.

Talk with him. There are issues which are causing him some kind of distraction about you and may be killing his desire for sex. Our maybe he is depressed about some thing.
I know it's hard. But if you love him you'll wait. If on the other hand it's all about you and getting laid, Move on ...

My hubby and i didn't have matching sex drives. We did go through Christian marital counseling and are still going even though things are sooo much better. The best thing to do is to pray, talk to him about it, pray hope that he agrees to go to counseling and pray some more. My hubby confessed if he is stressed it is hard for him to relax enough to be intimate. I hope this helps you must really love him, i will pray for you all.
