Let say Gordon Brown says we raised an extra 3 billion on taxes, how many million is that? Have a shot don't be shy and don't give explanations.

Facinating results guys. 21 answers of which 3 were wisecracks.
Out of 18 sensible answers 8 people got it either totally wrong or were confused as to which countries used what. Thats incredible, it means whenever they are talking about defence spending or budgets or the national health some people think they are quoting figures 1000 times larger than they actually are!!!
The correct answer is :-
in the UK AND the USA there are 1000 million in a billion. We used to have a million million in a billion in the UK but we dropped it many years ago and adopted the USA system.
In many other countries, the rest of Europe included, they still use a million million.
