you have to trust yourself and your coaches. Your coaches should put you through the right training and you should be hitting the weight room right now. Once you get out there you have to trust your instincts and use proper form. I play linebacker and I love nothing better then lighting someone up coming across the middle. Knowing I'm going to hit him hard, and not having a tiny bit of doubt is key. If you think you're going to miss then you will.

As far as being scared of tackling and hitting. What are you scared of? If you're good enough to be playing there's no way you should be afraid to hit someone. As long as you use proper technique shouldn't get hurt. good luck next year, and bust some ***.

If you've play a full year and still have the fear, you may never lose it. Work your tail off in the offseason, get yourself in the best possible shape and it will be less likely you'll be injured. Once you get that big hit put on you and you get up from it, maybe then the fear will subside.

I had the same problem when i was in high school until i went to a high school that had hitting drills every practice. I mean every day i was hitting live moving guys. So when game day came i was so use to hitting moving targets it was easy. You must scrim age against live opponents every practice and risk a little injury. The schools that were worried about live contact during the week had unprepared players on Fri when you smashed em! YA GOTTA GET USE TO LIVE HITS!

i had the same problem. the only way to get rid of it is to get the **** knocked out of u. Once u get that one lick that makes u think "how the hell am i getting up?", and u walk away unhurt, you'll stop being afraid. mine was when a linemen and 2 linbackers hit me from the front and both sides, as i went up for a pass. i was amazed i still had all 4 limbs, but i'm not afraid anymore.

I love to play football myself, I would play everyday with bigger people. That's how I get rid of my fear. Good luck.
