Is it possible to convert a car that runs on gasoline to natural gas and, if so, what does it involve?

yes it is possible,but not very practical, the tanks have to be huge,your range is limited and fuelling stations are rare, you need pressure regulators/vaporisers and a mixer then it will burn, you can tune your engine differently but it will not work in a diesel unless some form of fire is there as nat.gas will not compression ignite

it's a completely different system

it would cost thousands and thousands of dollars

gasoline uses the fuel injector, and combusts in a different way than natural gas does

it is costly and can be done,the fuel tanks are heavy and take up a lot of space

it will cost more then your car costed new. then everything that is not the chassis, needs to be replaced, and the chasis needs to be worked on. its not worth it.
