Hmmm. I don't know if language exists only because someone faught to preserve it.
Who do the South Americans or the Mexicans have to thank for speaking Spanish? Spain? Woopie.

Actually that is true because lets say for example country A takes over Country B. Country A will want both country's to have their language since they took over. Right?
