I do because it would end high gas prices and high capitalism. And it would help with medical use. did you know our country was founded on marijuana? And at one point it was illegal to not grow it. There would be a sky rocket profit of the plant plus the government would profit of it. They wouldnt have to spend the 7.7 billion dollars a year to keep it out the country, and there would be more room is jail for the real criminals.

Marijuana smoking should be legalised everywhere.
It is a simple natural herb, which provides pleasure and relaxation, and has many beneficial medicinal properties. It relieves stress, reduces pain, and certain studies show that it can disipate asthma, and be beneficial to alzheimer's patients.
The reason it was made illegal in the first place was because the oil from the seeds can be used to fuel an engine, and so the oil lobby, along with the media who were making profits from cutting down trees, found a way to make it illegal. The law was passed as a part of the tax law, which introduced the name marijuana, so that nobody would realise that they were restricting the use of hemp.

Yes, it should be legal or decriminalized. The war on drugs is an abismal failure that wastes billions of dollars and helps organized crime reap more billions in profits. Decriminalization would resolve both those problems.

Denmark decriminalized drugs years ago and discovered that there were fewer users not more. Interesting, isn't it? The fact is that if you want drugs you can get them at absurdly high prices regardless of the laws. decriminalization would remove the massive profit margin which would in turn reduce the petty crime needed to obtain money to purchase at street prices. Even with 100% tax the price would still be 10% of what it is now. Those taxes could be used for educational purposes rather than spending much much more on penalizing peopel for them.

There was a huge propoganda campaign years ago to vilify marijuana and much of that is still in circulation. Reality is that pot is relatively benign while things like alcohol, tobbacco and caffeine are all socially accepted killers.

I totally agree with you. I don't think its that bad. I used to be againts weed, but that was becouse I was taught all drugs were bad no matter what type of drug it was. I hung out with my friends that did dope, and I turned it down evertime. I eventually decided to give it a try. I figured they did it and they were fine, so I thought what the hell. I personally don't think their is anything wrong with getting high. It doesn't effect anyone else but me. It doesn't effect the people that I work with, it doesn't effect you, it just effects me. I don't even consider it a real drug. Their are many drugs that do much more damage, like meth, herouine, and X. Their is a 0% death rate from marijuana use. Tabacco products will kill you much faster before weed ever will. It doesn't make people violent. Liqour has done that to some people. The only problem I can see is drying under the influence of marijuana, but yet again, people drink and drive, so there is no difference their. If it was legal, the goverment would make alot in taxes, just like they do on tabacco products. I don't think people should be able to hit up in public just like you can't drink in public, but I think you should be able to hit up in the privacy of your own home or a friends house. Weed also has no long term effects, just short term. My friend even came to my house when he was high and my parents never ever noticed, doesn't that tell you something right their? Another reason why is should be ok to hit up is becouse it only last a few hours, meaning that you can function at work with no problems, just don't hit up before work, just like you wouldn't drink before you went to work. I think the public proceeds its drugs are bad through education and thats why people are so againts it. I hope that someday they do make it legal. You have a good point, they should be after people that commit real crime.

The legalization of medical marijuana would actually be very beneficial.

I am not saying that the complete legalization to the extend of selling packs of pot would be a good idea. Actually all I am saying is that with the tax revenue produced from people in "pain" and the safety brought about by consumers buying a governmental controlled substance rather than the junk that people would buy on the street would be a win-win.

It would help reduce the deficit, keep safe the consumer, and reduce the influence that drug cartels have all over the country.

No. You are spinning the facts to support your own arguement. Hemp was grown for industrial uses such as paper and rope. America produced large quantities of it and exported it.
The actual drug effect of smoking it did not become popular until the 1930's. I have seen no good things come of it since then. The only arguement I hear about are the "medical" uses of it. It will make terminally ill patients feel relaxed and help them to develop an appetite. The FDA and pharmaceutical companies could probably manufacture a drug like that.

No!!! Long-term marijuana abuse can lead to addiction for some people; that is, they abuse the drug compulsively even though it interferes with family, school, work, and recreational activities. Drug craving and withdrawal symptoms can make it hard for long-term marijuana smokers to stop abusing the drug. People trying to quit report irritability, sleeplessness, and anxiety32. They also display increased aggression on psychological tests, peaking approximately one week after the last use of the drug33.

Legalize it. It's no more dangerous than cigarettes and alcohol. I don't know anyone who's suffered from smoking marijuana.

I love a good myth. Like the one about the earth being flat or the one about the immune system being static or that drugs are bad for you. We are nothing but drugs. The only way any psychotropic drug affects your perception of the world is by the same mechanism the orginal neuropeptide affects the cells. So If you never ate honey how do you know how it tastes and if your argument is science knows better then know your science.

Just plain no, why risk the lives and mentality of millions of people just to end high gas prices? The points you argued make sense, but there are other ways to end high gas prices and high capitalism. Amsterdam made it legal, and i'm sure they're regretting it.
