A friend of mine is trying to convince me to play through LoZ OoT, saying that it is a great game and may make the new TP more enjoyable, as you apparently revisit many places, is it worth trying a decade since its release?

First off, Ocarina of Time = amazing. Pretty much everyone i know and people i don't know all agree that OoT is the best Zelda game ever. Personally i love it too, and it's really fun. Hopefully you're not too picky on graphics, but it still looks good especially for its time.
And revisiting familiar places on a newer game is always cool, it flows the storylines/games together and can sometimes help you find your way around.
If you want to become a true Zelda fan or are just aiming to play awesome games, then go for OoT and then Twilight Princess.

I love that friend of your's!!10-15 gaming sites can't be wrong about
a single game.I had finished It long ago and again sat with it 3 months back.And i loved it.Graphics are good,too good for that time.I don't care if u buy TP or not,i still say u should play it.I hope most of us will agree with me.But remember it is time consuming if u want to complete it 100%.

Well, it is a very good game for when it was made, but there is a HUGE glitch in the Water Temple (a place you can get to later)that can erase all of the work you did throughout the game and have you trapped in a box of torment and despair of wasted hours of your life, so if you want to try to surpass it, go right ahead.

BEST GAME EVER MADE!! it really is though, legend of zelda OoT is the only game in history to get a perfect score from every GAMING site...halo and grand theft auto came close but fell short..

dude, i am not kidding when i say this. loz oot is the best loz of the series, anyone i ask always says it is and i have played it all the way through, so you should definitely play it.

I never played it, but I watched my kids and I think it one of the most aesthetic games ever made. A vote for yes/
