I'm so sorry, but yes, this is a sign of serious mental instability. She needs counseling. And medication. ASAP! And you should buy her a pair of snorkeling goggles that cover the nose to prevent further self-destructive behaviour. Don't be alarmed if she doesn't want to ware them though. Remember, this may be an addiction, and getting rid of addiction is a process.

....lol, Of course it's not a mental illness! Don't be ridiculous! People get caught picking their noses all the time! Sure, in 42 y/o women, this kind of habit might be rare (and gross), but come on! Give her a break... lololol.

I highly doubt that it's a sign of mental illness. I'd say it's just something she never gave up from childhood and she thought no one would see.

LOL LOL LOL y'all is hell@ crazy!!!!!!!!!! Now that is not only funny but I know for a fact she would be so embarrassed if she knew you saw her. you should have said... hey, I saw that, But I love you anyway. Theres no sense in leaving now. My question to you is how did you feel when you saw her do it? And also hope no one else saw her do it before you did cuz if they did they wont tell you but I bet they will talk about both of y'all. peace and be blessed.

booger picking is not a mental illness. neither is eating it. most people don't do either, however, it happens. boogers aren't harmful to you. just think of how much snot you swallow while you sleep, or when your sick. when you're sick, i'm sure you don't always blow your nose. i'm sure you suck the snot down the back of your throat. i'm sure you do things that she may find disgusting too, so don't be too judgemental.

Let a psychologist determine her behavior. Maybe she is regressing to a childhood stage. All in all, it's gross.

No, that's more a sign that you should not eat anything she cooks if you didn't observe her washing her hands first.

Of course not. Some people do it, all though that is pretty disgusting. Did you tell her you saw her do it?

That is disgusting. Does she eat paste too ? But anyway, ask her why she does it.
