Here is how you do it:
(2,1) and (3,4) = [(2)(3) + (1)(4)]/(2)(1) - (3)(4)
= (6 + 4)/(2-12)
= 10/-10
= -1

Given (a,b)(c,d)=(ac+bd)(ab-cd)
Therefore,(2,1)(3,4)=(2X3+1X4)(2X1-3X4)
=(10)(-10)
=-100
