Usually around 35 lbs. That would be the average.

It used to be that women were only supposed to gain 16 pounds! More than likely a man that came up with that number. The average gain should be around 35 to 40 lbs. It all depends on how much you weigh to begin with. I'm 5 months pregnant and have only gained 2 pounds which my doctor thinks is great, and my friend is 5 months pregnant and she's gained 13 pounds. As long as you eat healthy and enough for the 2 of you, I wouldn't worry about weight.

well usually no more than 1 pound a week and pregnancy is 40 wks so 40 pounds give or take a few, but that really depends on the pregnancy and the mom. usually any where from 25 - 40 is good. if you gain to much weight dr might complain

We're all different mate, some don't gain much & others gain sh*tloads.
I gained 17 kilos with my twins! Went from 55 to 72 back down to 56 when they were about 10 months old.
Think the average is about 10-12 or so..

Monthly--it isn't applicable due to too much variance.
Total---they change it every year! But now, I think they say 30 lbs is healthy.
Any less starves the baby--- a good 10 lbs is baby+amnio fluid+placenta!
