I don't have any hotspots close to where I live, and no wireless internet access in my home. I need to be able to access it wirelessly or else half of the features on the Wii would be useless when I get one. I need to get a router that doesn't hook up to a computer, and don't know if there's any out there.

All you need is a very inexpensive netgear wireless router, you can pick one of these up for about $30. All you need to do is plug your high speed DSL or cable modem into the back of it, plug your computer into one of the four ethernet ports in the back of a wireless router, and you're ready to go!

You don't need the router to hook up to a computer but the router does have to hook up to a modem. You need some sort of Internet access in your home. You would then hook up the router to the modem and the Wii to the router.

However, you may need to hook the router to a computer to set up the security for the router and your wireless network. You don't want everyone using YOUR wireless internet.

A prompt modem router may be a prompt router/modem mixture and a prompt router might basically be a router on its very own. in case you had severe-velocity cable cyber web you will possibly want a modem related to a prompt router to get on line.
