I believe in spelling....
Okay, yes, I believe in aspects of Santa Claus. I know there was St. Nicholas (and some really cool stories about him). It's a little ridiculous to deny he existed, since, you know, he did.
I also believe in the theory that Christmas is for children, and that children love (and need) fantasy in their lives. Believing in Santa Claus makes my children smile, and I see no reason to start out from the beginning molding them into cynical, unimaginative people by making sure that they understand that only the flesh-and-blood is real. Right now, my children are young enough to see "magic" in the world. Why would I want to take that away from them before the world takes it away from them anyway? Flights of fancy, in healthy doses, makes the flesh-and-blood world tolerable. So we do the whole Santa Claus bit, and when my children are old enough to ask me if he's real, I'll tell them what my parents told me.

I think maybe he might have been a real person at one time who did give out presents .
Someone started telling stories about him and all of a sudden ,he had flying reindeer and lives for ever.
I don't believe he is some mythical ,magical being who fits in my chimney and spies on me all year round to see If I have been bad or good.

Nope. There once WAS a priest named Nicholas, but there has never been a Santa Claus.
What I believe is that people needed something easier and more fun than a savior born who would die a horrible death to save us from our sins. They prefer to teach their children about a fat guy in a red suit who comes down a chimney and leaves presents, than to teach them about the birth of God's son, and the giving of gifts because of the gift God first gave us.
Why not just tell the children that you are giving them gifts, because God first gave us the most wonderful gift and that your gifts show your love to them?
Christmas is so commercialized now that it has lost its meaning for most people.
Merry Christmas,
Sue

of course I believe in Santa Claus as he has been, is, and will continue to inspire what is good among mankind. think about a person who continually gives gifts to children and adults. a person who can make the entire world believe in the good things in emulation of THE DEITY and be thinking of others rather than himself by emulating JESUS CHRIST.

Yes,
I went to see his rest place (in Turkey)
They tell good stories about him.
He was a real person. And he was good. Take your kids to see his resting place to tell the truth when the time comes (my parent did that when I was 8). How many parents do that I wonder!

Santa Claus, or St. Nicholas, was a Catholic priest who brought gifts to children in memory of Jesus giving Himself to us as a gift. That is why we give gifts to each other today.
