First of all, XP has nothing to do with RAM (Random Access Memory). That memory exists in your motherboard. It is the basic random memory your PC comes with.

However, if you look in your motherboard, next to your existent RAM there is a slot, or more, for extra RAM if you wish to install.

Just go to any Informatica store and ask for your RAM. You will need to know your PC make, most probably the type of Processor your PC have and probably the motherboard serial number or the like so go prepare so as not to make unnecessary trips.

Buy the RAM for your particular computer. See what the maximum amount is and divide that by the number of memory slots your computer has. If you aren't comfortable with installing it yourself, get a professional to do it for you.

The minimum RAM for Win XP home edition is 128 MB. You should at least double that to 256 MB

If you do not already know the answer the go th a tech. I bought the memory stick on line that was rated for my make & model. I was going to install it and then could not get the case off my tower, So I called around to fine out about having it installed. He said he woul install it for $10.00. When I got there to drop it off he asked I I wanted him to test it to make sure it worked. I said yes and it was an extra five bucks. Money well spent.
