Well, generally I save the coins in a jar at home, or if I'm eating at a small business restaurant, I leave the change in their tip jars. I figure the smaller businesses need the most help to keep from going under.
At this time of the year, I typically put my change in the Salvation Army collection outside the grocery store.

I dont use coins for purchase ever and when they build up in my purse or wallet they go in a huge old glass milk jug in my kitchen. It's almost full and I can't wait to see how much is in it.

I just try to hold them in my hand or put them in my pocket and then put them in my cars cup-holder. Or, if I get a bag, I'll put the coins in it.

I clean them out every evening and put them in a jar. Once or twice a year I roll them and take them to the bank. Our monetary system sucks and we should get rid of the damn penny!
