Someday I'll break down & get a woman's purse. Until then I'll use my backpack.
Within usually resides a notebook & a couple novels. Some cosmetics, maybe a snack like crackers to keep my sugar levels even, and any research material on any subject that I'm finding to be fascinating at the moment. Also carry my sketch book & pen/pencil case.

I don't have a purse o.O I should probably get one. In my pockets? Left = empty. Right = Large pack of gum with a few pieces left, and two spare batteries for the digital camera.

front right three keys in the little pocket and change in the big one. front left some dollar bills and a spare battery for my cell phone and a secure ID token for accessing our network at work. wallet in the back right, when I go to work keys for the work truck in the back left.
