my computer has 512 MM DDR SDRAM is that enough ram to run a video

1 of 2 things is happening. 1) if you're streaming over the internet the video simply hasn't loaded yet, so just press the stop button, and wait for the video to load a little bit so that your play catches up. And 2) You simply don't have enough RAM, if you have other applications going on in the backround then simply close them, or, buy some more RAM.

I am assuming you are watching a video on the Internet. The movie has to download, called buffering, in chunks. As the movie plays, the other half is still being downloaded, and you end up having to wait. The one sure fire way to get around this is get a high speed cable connection. The other is to set up your video player, say Windows Media Player to download allot more content before start playing. This can be found under Tools, Options, Performance. If it's a trailer to a movie, sometimes you can download it and watch via Quick Time so you have no interruptions.

it has something to do with the pc's memory. when it's low, your pc tries to replenish or recover memory causing the video to momentarily stop.
