That's a hard one! If you have a white or light floor, every mark shows. The marks are made from shoes that have black soles and are not easy to remove. I'd consider having at least my family take these shoes off at the door and put on on the way out the door. Can't do that? Try Mr. Cleans cleaning sponges. Oxy clean is pretty good. No matter how you clean the floor the trick to keeping the marks off is to protect the floor. QVC sells a product that is supposed to do that. Go there and type in floor care products and see what comes up. They have some pretty outstanding products for cleaning floors too. The good thing is, they don't give you a hard time if you return it. I do that if it doesn't fit, they are great about that. Good luck and Happy Holidays.

The Magic Erasers have done wonders on our unsealed tile, and grout. Warm water with it helps.

If you aren't seeing the results you would like, a small amount of a spray cleaner can help as a solvent adjunct.

It seems to do an admirable and quick job with laminate flooring, too.

Removing shoes may help avoid such a problem in the first place, then there is simply guttin and replacing your current flooring with something that won't scuff easily, such as sealed stamped concrete.

Avoiding the behavior once clean will likely be the only thing that works long-term.

cheers!

If you are talking about scuff marks, use a tennis ball and just rub it on the scuff mark and it will erase it. I see the mall workers use tennis balls on a stick to get the scuff marks off of the floor at the mall all of the time. It's part of their cleaning cart tools.

Buy Mr. Clean Magic erasers. They are the greatest. You can also use SOS Soap pads and work at the black marks gently.

For somewhere around $1.50 at Wal-Mart or any other store for that matter you can buy a two-pack of Mister Clean Magic erasers. I can't live without them. They will take almost anything off without ever leaving a residue or scratches because its a soft sponge.

Lighter fluid works great. Mr Clean Eraser works well on vinyl and tile but not on polyurethaned wood floors.

My wife swears by Mr. Cleans Magic Eraser. We have three artistic boys that like to leave their mark if you know what I mean, and Mr. Clean gets them everytime.

If the black marks are made by shoe rubber, they will often come off just by rubbing them with another rubber-soled shoe, like a white runner. If you wear the runner while you rub, it's easier.
