It seems like that was the grandioso decade when this country came together and it just seems like a wonderful time. I can see the fashion start to move twards 1960 style and the same trends like the peace sign and the hair styles ect.

NO. We fell short of the mark & crumbled under pressure. We won't ever have the 60's. I predict that we shall have much worse than my generation ever dreamed of. Our destruction had a purpose. Misguided, but at least we had a starting point. We got lost in the middle when the Corporate Greed took over & bought into the Peace & Freedom groups (like NOW & the ACLU). We were so stoned, that we missed that part & by the time we realized it, most of us were either dead or permanently fried from the poisoned doses of LSD that were given out freely in an attempt to subdue our radical ways. The draft took care of many of us. Our childrens children have no idea what we went through & we have no idea why they seem to have no heart. In reality, they are the perfect killing machines, because they don't give a damn about anything. They relate only to a fantasy world of electronics, so they will find pushing a button easier than we would have. Clothing of the 60's was more than a fashion statement. It was a uniform that defined who you were & what side you chose to live your life on. I hope I can still pull my chair up to the window to watch the show that will begin when we least expect it. I sucks knowing that I will have no choices.

What I would like to see in relation to what occurred in the '60s is a greater collective social conscience. The 60s were a time where we questioned what had been force fed to us by those in charge. It was a time of cultural change based heavily on the notion that the Government was not and should not be an "All controlling" entity.

I think in a small way, that is beginning to occur. There will never be another 60s, but there will always be another revolution....

It wasn't somewhat mass nor became it finished. there became a lot of combating substitute. additionally somewhat some the substitute waz undesirable. dying of medicine. i recognize human beings who're now in part strategies lifeless from the LSD they did in the previous. With each and every movment there became substitute made and in some way the pendilum swings somewhat to a approaches in to unreality. we are in a position to flash the peace sign and say...Make love no longer conflict. And we are in a position to purpose going over to the midsection east and attempt carry hands and sing KUMBIYA LORD KUMBYA. It an't gonna take place! i'm a newborn of the 60's I had hair previous my waist. I observed the coolest and the undesirable in that era. and that i've got fond strategies of that era that inspired substitute. throughout the time of history there has been movments annoying substitute and revolition. look at Stalin etc. No era is exactually the comparable however the secnerio is comparable. Mankind will repeat history persistently lower back. optimistically we are able to study classes alongside the way. There definatly became something with reference to the 60-70's that became particular. Hey! I was hip in the '60s.
Went to Mexico and lived in a cabin.
Taught school to Oaxacan Indian children.
Enrolled my kids in Free School.
Burned my draft card.
Witnessth police spy on citizens at the park.
Marched in a hundred anti'war, pro'civil-rights marches.
Organized community groups and took hundreds of children on dozens of field trips.
Rewarded god behavior in my classroom with camping trips to the mountains, the Grand Canyon, and Victoria Island.
Became politically invoved against Prez Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon, the war in SE Asia and civil rights.
Attended third party rallies and conventions.
I think the '00s are relatively boring because the people swallow the bull==== that the government feeds them on TV.
Think for yourself!!

I loved the 60s, but I don't think we had it all together. I just have a bunch of happy memories of high school and graduation and dating. The 60s were a state of turmoil, with viet nam, flag burning, sit down strikes and the real beginnings of the drug revolution. It was a time of unrest, but I don't think we can ever have what it was again because it was a simpler, safer time. Our world will never be the same.

I reallly hope so in that we need to get rid of the Iraq war the way we did the Vietnam one. Hopefully the races can unite to overthrow the present government. Unfortunately, I don't think that the young people will take the Iraq war seriously until they reinstitute the draft. That will get their attention. It will get worse before it gets better.

Came together, are you sure you were in the same 1960's. This country was almost torn apart in the 60's, good riddance to them.

I would love to see a return to the 60's for a lot of reasons, but I think that ship has sailed. So many people's morals are just shot.
