You're technically not paying them but what gives them the right to impose their noise on you? Call their supervisor or boss and tell or ask him to get them to turn down the stupid radio. Or go thundering down the stairs yourself, preferably right out of the shower or something (shock value you know) and naked and wet rip the radio out of the wall socket and throw it down on the floor. Scream something about not being able to take it any more or something. Then tell people later you were on tranquillizers or something and you snapped.
You may have to buy a new radio but at least you won't have to listen to the morons any more.
I dealt with the same exact thing but I had an employee of mine go and have speaks with the workers. The radio hasn't been on even once since then. He is very.. persuasive.
Their "right" to listen to music ends where your right to silence begins.
Or play Barry Manilow or Billy Joel or the Hoodwinked soundtrack just as loudly. Go to a gun store. No, don't buy a gun although it is terribly tempting, but get a pair of their over the ear (not in the ear canal) ear protection. They work much better and muffle gunfire, so they should work against horrible "music".

Be matter of fact about it.Say you have a lot of work to do today and can they please keep the radio at a lower level. You say the insurance company is paying for it but you paid the insurance company premiums so they are working for you. It is your house, they probably don't have the slightest idea that the music is too loud for you. It they comply and don't act rude, maybe you can make them some sandwiches or another snack. Then hopefully if they realize it is bothering you they will tone it down the next day and from then on.

Ask them nicely to please turn the music down as you work out of your home and it is very distracting. You don't want to make them mad as some people would think they would have to get revenge or something. Then they may do a mediocre or poor job or think of ways to torment you even more. It's too bad but there unfortunately people like that. Hopefully these guys are respectful and haven't realized what they have been putting you through.

Actually, you are paying them that's why you pay insurance premiums. They are employees. But just because they're employees doesn't mean you have to be rude. Simply ask them politely to keep it down to a dull roar. If they don't comply, call the insurance company and tell them you need to hire a new crew and go from there. Hope that helps =D

Red, please don’t allow others to make you blue.
There comes a time when one must speak up, and this is one of those times. If you don’t have ‘peace’ in your own home something is wrong.
Simply go to the head person, if any, and discuss the matter with them. If there is no person in charge, I would advise you to go directly to the person who has the radio. It may be best to suggest that the individuals wear head sets until the work is done.
Be blessed and don’t stress.

its your home so they should respect it!!! tell them to turn down the music or turn in their tool belts!! you shouldn't have to put up with the abuse. call their boss and tell them how disrespect full they are... even if there is a shortage of workers in your area ,, the contractor does not want to loose you business.

Id definatley tell them that they can't have the radio up loud. It's YOUR home, you make the rules. Tell them they can listen to it but at a reasonable volume.
