Should read:
"How to respond to a person's statements, which, 9 times out of 10, are a correction to your verbiage and your inaccuracies?"
(just being facetious here, don't take offense)
Ignore it. take the good and leave the bad. Most people mean well, and for reasons unknown to me, it seems far easier to pick at someone's perceived faults, and gloss over the positive.
Good question, actually, worthy of a thumbs up.

if you care about this persons opinion ask for specific examples, usually verbiage is for u to convey what a subject means to you and what idea or input you want to get accross, that is the beutiful thing about the english language, you can say something 5 different ways and still get the same meaning, they probably understand you perfectly but want you to phrase it as they would or are just looking for an excuse to belittle you, appeal to their ego by telling them that they are missing the essential elements that personalize your statements and f they focus only on the syntax then they are the one who is inferior and should move to japan where the language is always subject object verb and never deviates and has very strict grammar rules,

its a verry common problem with ppl to unneccesarily correct the other person. Especially those who work in a group, with ppl who are having a bit of habit of showing off their tilent which is most of the times they actually lack.,
best way i think to deal with such ppl is to let them correct u as much as they can dont arrogantly snap them with counter answer of u prooving urself right. this is mahatma Gandhi phylosophy meanwhile u keep on working urself to correct urself most of the times so the person will know ur potential to be right.
next time when he tries to correct u, u just tell him ok i m workin on it
considering ur verbaige problem u just dont talk with him or talk only a bit. that will give him a verry lil chance to correct u
master on other fields in which the other person lacks and correct him there with using min words
i m sure in a week or two u'll see the deference
i m saying all this on basis of my persanal exp..

I'd say "Thank you very f***ing much Webster. How did I manage to graduate from college without you? Now shut the f**ck up and get out of my face before I correct the job your mom f**cked up!"
But that's just me. People tend not to correct me. Even when I'm obviously wrong.
