How far along are you?
If you are over 25 weeks or so then it could be Braxton Hicks Contractions - they are like tightenings (some women feel them like period pains) which help prepare your uterus for labour. They usually go away if you lie down and rest. They are quite normal.
Some slight abdominal cramping throughout pregnancy is normal even in the very early stages - its just your uterus expanding and your ligaments being placed under strain.
Sometimes even the baby's kicks and movement can be felt as slight twinges.
I was told that only severe pain (sometimes accompanied by bleeding) is cause for concern.
But really, as with anything else in pregnancy, the best person to speak to is your doctor or midwife, as they can reassure you and make sure nothing is wrong. It sounds normal to me but then I'm not a doctor or a midwife! So don't take my word for it, get a professional's viewpoint as soon as you can to put your mind at rest.

Firstly, any pain in pregnancy should always be checked out, just in case.
Having said that, I had all sorts of pain in my tummy when I was pregnant - especially in the early months. Your digestion slows down to ensure your body gets all the nutrients, and this can lead to abdominal pain. It's very uncomfortable.
Get checked over by your midwife or GP, but try not to worry. It probably isn't anything sinister.

i had quite a bit of pain at the start which seems to have subsided now. The only thing i can really suggest is whether you are constipated? I get TERRIBLE abdominal pains when I'm bunged up and it doesn't really subside till i go to the loo (sorry, t.m.i!!!)
Don't worry and take it easy!!!

Sometimes depending on your age if mid to later twentys when you get preg your body has stopped growing so to get ready for baby you mucsle and bones have to move alot during preg. It can be very painful indeed. If really worried ask your doctor but i have had two and went through alot of pains sounding similer with my first.

Ooooh, I had this with my twins. The doc told me that it was the babies having a growth spurt at the same time. It was agony and the doc asked me to go into the clinic to see him. I got outside, but when I tried to climb into the car, AAAARGH! I was trying to laugh and scream in agony at the same time, I just couldn't lift my leg into the car. My neighbour was trying to help by lifting my leg and he was just making it more painful! We must've looked a right sight, my husband on one side, my neighbour on the other grovelling on his knees by the side of the car and me groaning away!!!
Oh, those were the days! Believe me, you remember it all with a huge smile on your face! Good luck.

well your ligaments are streching out to give way to the baby that is growning inside of you . have your husband give you a nice massge to ease the pain a bit . just sit down more to ease up on the strain
put up your feet , relax....
