Probably Mr.Rochester from Jane Eyre(my favorite book ever, too) because he treats her as an equal.

I'd love to have in my life Hugo from Henry and June (screen adaptation from Anais Nin's postumously published diaries).
I think I'd be a fair bit like Anais Nin (although not using others to gain experience for writing) if I were a movie character.
Any scene with Hugo would be interesting.
