Last year, I was so flexible that I could almost do the splits! That was good for me because I gave up on sports the previous 2years and became lazy!! Well I am in 9th grade and I want to join Ballet! I have no idea y, I just do! lol. Well, my mom said that she would think about it. I was so happy that I actually went to go and try to be more flexible! Well, over the summer I did not work out at all and I became my lazy old self like I was two years ago! I went to try some flexing xercises and I could not do them. I wanted to cry. Help me! srry its long!

I was Captin of my Cheerleading team and everything last year and when I thought about me doing the splits, I got really mad at myself. I have grown so lazy and now it is a bad habit. I just want to go back to my old self where I was kinda a tomboy! But, I gave up cheering cuz we moved over this summer (thats y i didnt xercise) and this team here is really really bad. I am sad, but I want to do ballet n maybe gymnastics and volleyball.

The obvious answer is that you need to practice and train. Motivation to continue doing such is your failing point.

If you are in 9th grade there are probably many other girls around with similar goals. Find one or two and the three of you workout and train together. Studies have indicated that people who workout with partners are 60% more likely to stay with it. Couples who workout together are even more likely to stick with a workout, although you are way too young to be getting married perhaps a boyfriend? Of course that does sound like a silly reason to chase boys!

I had the same problem... i wanted to be WAY more flexible for gymnastics because my split leap stunk...no really it did! I was always like okay gotta stretch and ended up watching tv or here on the computer.(gosh thats sad) anyways i finally sat my butt down and pushed my splits. I wanted to cry to because it really hurt but i wanted that split leap! Now i can jump up and land in a full right leg split and slide into it when ever i want! Your legs are like rubberbands if you stretch it out for a long period of time u can stretch it farther and farther. JUST GO FOR! If u want ballet prove it! u can do!

it sounds like you're out of practice and out of motivation.
If you want to be more flexible, practice. No one is fantastic at something overnight. Flexibility is something that only stays if you practice with it. Stretch a couple times a day. Once in the morning, once in the middle of the day, and before you go to bed.
Yoga also helps make your muscles more flexible.
And as for motivation, it's all up to you. If you want something, like flexibility, you have to know it's not just going to come to you. You have to work at it and achieve it.
I hope i helped.
