I recently had a stomach x-ray, and the tech gave me some stuff to swallow, what is it called?

It could be Barium or a contrast. There are many things they can give you. Call and ask them, they have to tell you. Then you can look it up and get more questions answered. Hope you feel better!

Barium is a metal, technically. But, it's not toxic. Like most metals, it blocks Xrays pretty good, so it helps enhance the contrast of XRay pictures - it outlines the stomach and intestines really well.

everybody is right when they answer barium had it done a couple of times and barium is the answer you are looking for.

Probably barium. It's radioactive just enough to show up any abnormalities.

its contrast, its a radiopaque material that enables physicians too see more detail in your stomach to better diagnose what is wrong with you.
