...bedrest for at least a week. I went to see my family dr for another reason..he saw the report. He said go back to work. He said if I start bleeding again not to worry about it. What should I do? Listen to the ER dr or my family dr? I am confused.

I was diagnosed with placenta abruptio when I was only 4 months pregnant. My doctor put me on complete bedrest. You may want to get a second opinion.

I started bleeding in my 3rd month with my second child and was put on bed rest for about 6 weeks. The dr. said I had an irritable uterus and was having mild contractions along with the bleeding. I'd take the opinion of the ER doctor. It isn't normal to tear the placenta and can cause harm to the feutus if it isn't gettin enough nourishment. I also agree with some of the other suggestions that you get an ob/gyn to manage your pregnancy. Because of this history, you are probably considered high risk and need to have your pregnancy monitored by a doctor who specializes in this field.

go with what your heart tells you. i was told at 3 mos that all i had was a kidney infection , turned out to be a placenta previa. if i had not gotten a second opinion my son would have been lost and i would not have my grand daughter today. always go with your gutt,. only a mom knows for sure. lots of luck with you from my family.

I would stay on best rest and not listen to a family doctor. Staying on the bed rest sounds like the best choice for the safety of your baby.

well how far along are you? my doctor told me they wont put you on bedrest if you arent past 24 weeks because there is no way the baby could survive outside the body until then.
