There is nothing you can do about it. If you get mad and blow up and yell or say your boyfriend blows up - either way you just strengthen the prejudice.
I'll be honest with you.., I try to fight the prejudice I was raised under, and I try really hard. To this day I kind of cringe when I see mixed black and white couples together.., BUT.., I remind myself I would say nothing about a white & Asian couple.., and my thinking is VERY wrong. The problem is with me. In the same way, this problem is with others.
The best thing you can do with people who shoot you disapproving looks is to ignore them. Getting mouthy as I said before will only increase the dislike of mixed marriages. At some point I expect people to get used to it.
I am willing to bet you knew that some people would react that way when you decided to start dating this man of yours. Am I right? If you are convinced you did the right thing, then you need to accept the fact that you cant force people to approve, and that you will get some "looks" even from some black people who also disapprove of mixed marriages. So its not an all white exclusive here, nor an all black.
Ignore them - and move on with your life. You decided to date him despite knowing the opposition so you must also be willing to accept the consequences. You cant change people. People have to change themselves.

Girl, I'm a black girl with a white boyfriend, and I kinda know what you mean. Anyway, if you really love your man, that's all that matters! Stand tall, be proud! Those young people who stare and say mean things? Honey, their ignorace won't attract anyone of their race or any other. Those older people who stare and say mean things? Well, you have to understand they're from a different era. Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do about these folks. Just ignore them and enjoy your relationship!

I'd say go for it girl! I don't think there is anything wrong with it. Personally I really like Black guys too. I know it's always easier to say this, but it doesn't matter what people think. If you love him then that's all that matters. I've always been the odd one so I know exactly how you feel.

People stare at my husband and me for the same reason. We are both of different races. It used to bother me in the beginning, because I was concerned about what people thought of us or what they were saying behind our backs. Now I don't give a flying fig what other people think. When we see people staring, we hold hands or kiss, just to rile them up. It's like a joke to us now.
I think the change in attitude came when I woke up one day and realized that my choice in dating / marrying a man of a different race, made a social statement. My choice in fact, was effecting change in the way my family, friends, strangers viewed a bi-racial couple. I consider it a social responsibility on my part in the seemingly never-ending process of ending discrimination and stereotyping. I was the first in my family to marry someone outside of my race. Younger family members have started looking up to me and view me as a role model to date / marry whomever they want.
I look at it as being a rebel with a cause.

Don't worrying about those people their just ignorant who are unhappy with their own lives. Not all Black girls act like that because personally I don't care, I love when I see interracial couples because it shows that the way people think is starting to change. I just don't like it, when people date outside of their race for the stereotypical reasons or because of hatred towards their race. People are people, you can relate to people on so many different levels other then race. Just do your thing and concentrate on your own happiness with your man.

Completely ignore them because they are stupid. You love each other, you want to be together be happy you have each other. There is nothing wrong with being together and disreguard this clown who said your children will suffer. Robert De Niro, Tiger Woods and David Bowie are a few well known people in interracial relationships. Do you think these clowns would dare say anything to these people?

I am european married to a Panamanian. Some-
times when we go out people stare because
my skin color is light with blue eyes and hers is
bronze with brown eyes. When I was in the
states and we spoke spanish people did not like
it, but we speak english also. Now that I live in
panama people stare becasue I am married to
one of their own: I say this to say do not worry
about the stares or talks as its all over the
world. No matter who one is Society still does
not except certain things in this world: I love
my wife and she loves me and that is all that
matters, the rest of them that do not like it
that is their problem. I always tell my wife that
in the streets you will always find trash and
thats to say people will always say something
or stare at someone in a negative way so its
something that will always be, just ingnore it.

don't let other peoples problem bother you it is just that their problem. This may be your one true love and you can't let other people change your feelings. Also don't stay in a relationship just to prove a point. There are still many people out there that just want people to be happy and will not judge one way or another
