I've been having my period since i was 12, and im getting ready to turn 15 in a few monthes. Well, the thing is, the week before i get my period i get dizzy, i feel sick, i have major headaches and have mood swings when im not even having my period! After that week, and i do get my period it hurts so bad, it feels like a 200 pound person jumping up and down on my lower stomache in freakin' high heels! ... i know its suppost to hurt and im suppost to have cramps but i didnt know it was suppost to hurt this bad! i cant sleep that night at all, i just curl up in a ball with a heating pad. Is there anything i can do to get this to stop!? i was thinking about birthcontrol .. but .. i dont know if i should because of my age .. but dangit! at this point im willing to do anythign to get it to stop. Also, i dont live with my mom .. i live with my dad so if birthcontrol is the answer how should i approach him with this without making it weird .. my dad is kinda understanding. help me please :((

The best idea is to go to the doctor and try birth control to control your periods. It will help a lot with the cramps and with the headaches and the symptoms of PMS in general. There are many different kinds to try and you might want to try the one that lessens your periods. Talk to your mom or dad about going to the doctor to get birth control not because you are having sex, but because you can't deal with the pain of your periods any longer. That's the best advice I can give you.

I hear you and can relate. I used to have periods like that when I was 15 and it is awful.
Only difference was I didn't go on birth control then.

I took over the counter meds. There are some good period and PMS medicines out there (they're basically the same thing because they have the same ingredients). Taking them helps a lot. I would go with that route due to your situation.

Stay away from Aspirin though. Aspirin makes you bleed heavier. You don't need that.

You have PMS before your period. This is not unusual but if severe your doctor needs to know about it. The severe pain and cramps is NOT NORMAL so you need to see the doc about it. Some discomfort or cramps are ok but not like you have described. Tell you dad that you are having female problems regarding your period and that you want to talk to the doctor about it. You could very well have something like endometriosis or it could be nothing. Either way the doc will be able to help you get relief.

I would go to a doctor. A friend of mine got really bad pains too from her period and had to take medication. But I don't think it was birth control.

Have you taken a pregnancy test lately? They have some medication called Premsyn PMS. Or medication for PMS symptoms (over-the-counter) at drug stores. Or try talking to your gynecologist about it.

You must see your Doctor for the best advice, you do not have to suffer .It can be unpleasant but tolerable. Please seek help as soon as possible,it sounds like your dad is supportive.
