Do y'all think black eye-liner is too harsh or does it depend on what kind of eye shape you have? I have large almond shaped eyes that are hazel and I have a medium complexion with long, dark brown wavy hair. I never wear a foundation and I only wear concealer if needed, light dusting of powder to cover up shine, a dab of blush and black mascara w/ black eyeliner. I don't ever wear eyeshadow or lipgloss or foundation. Does this seem like too much makeup, too little or just right? I know it depends on the individual, I just wanted to see what others thought.
Here are some pics on the web I found of what my eyeliner is similar to:
People tell me my eyes are similar to Penelope Cruz's. Here is a pic of her with black eyeliner, I do my eyes similar to hers without the eyeshadow:

I understand your concern because nobody wants to think they're wearing too much or too little because we've all seen the evidence of that walking around in our local shopping malls. But the picture looked fine to me and the fact that you're concerned tells me that you are a conscientious person and careful with what you do. Therefore, based on what you've told me, I would assume you to be truthful.
These days, I think less is more and if that's all you need and all you like then go with what works for you. You should never worry about what someone else thinks as long as you like it. But it's a mark of maturity to realize the merits of being tasteful.
I say you look great and ....YAY!

The eyeliner in the picture looks just right to me. I have the same eye shape, makeup habits, and I wear eyeliner all the time. It just gives girls that extra "pop"! But I wear a brown/black color during the day to tone it down a little. And black at night if I'm going out! Hope this helps!

I would say Yay ! It seems great ! But you should add a bit of gloss on your lips, maybe light pink, or nude. For your eyeliner, go for it ! I wear it, but it swear at long, so warning for not having the "racoon" look, it's not very pretty ! You should try some liquid eyeliner on the top or your high lashes, but just one on the two. I think it's a bit too much for a day-look. But for partys, or something special in a evening, you can try it. But remember : A light make-up is always better that too much !

I think it all depends on the person...Complextion,face shape, what you wear, ect. But,from what I can tell, based on your discription, you look wonderful. I myself wear black eyeliner. Along with black mascera, and either a light eyeshadow with glitter(just a light glitter, not that "look at me" glitter),or just the glitter. I believe in the saying less is more. All this also depends on what you are setting out to do. Like going out with the girls, maybe with your guy,or just shopping. But,to answer your question,no,I dont think its too much. Espeacially since you are so aware of it,Im sure youd notice, and stop,if it was too much. ....Happy Thanksgiving to you as well, and God Bless.

Nay. I surely have yet to hearken to melodic black steel, nonetheless. that could desire to be good. BQ: Melodic dying steel and inventive/technical dying steel, yay. generally happening/brutal dying steel, nay. BQ2: Nay. they have good songs, yet they are no longer my style of music.

Black eye liner, in my opinion, is a classic and looks great on almost everyone (same goes with charcoal and dark espresso aka black/brown.) You needn't worry about it looking to harsh or over-the-top, especially with your particular eye shape and application methods. Just remember to apply it thinly. YAY for black eyeliner and mascara!!!

No I personally like brown for my blonde hair and blue eyes! But I think black would look better with your almond eyes and wavy dark hair. I think you are wearing just the right amount of makeup.

If you like it, then sure, why not? Just don't go over the top with it and end up looking like some kind of human-raccoon hybrid. And try mixing up you're make-up so that you have more options and can change your appearance. Boring is bad.
