They have a name for people who use the "Rythm Method" to avoid pregnancy. They call them "mommy".

The theoretical answer is that women ovulate 14 days before their bleeding starts. I.e day 14 if you have 28-day periods, day 13 for 27 days, etc.

The next calculation is that sperm can survive 3-5 days in the womb waiting for Ms. Egg to show up. There's no good data on whether the egg will wait around, but current thought is that if no sperm is there within 24 hours, it's all over. But, leave a few days extra to be safe.

Current research has should that OCCASIONALLY ovulation can happen randomly, not just at the specified times. So, it is possible to get pregnant at any time during your cycle. How safe do you want to be? 100%, or 90%, or 80%? How badly do you want to avoid being a mommy? Discussion boards like these are full of stories about "I got pregnant 2 days before my period was due!"

You're pretty safe -usually -from the day your bleeding starts (yuck! bring along a towel!) to about day 9, and then from about day 18 to 28.

However, other birth control methods are much more reliable. Even condoms are rated as 90%; that 10% is due to breakage (happens) and more often, being too drunk to use them properly. That's the other danger; if you are taking no precautions other than timing, what happens when you get too drunk, or excited, or sleepy, to stop before you get carried away. A pill you can take every morhing is harder to mess up.

And also, the rythm method doesn't prevent diseases, if you're doing the "Penis of the Month" thing. Condoms do.

None really. Unless you know the excat day you ovulate its pretty hard to avoid. The egg remains in your uterus untill the cycle is over and your start your period. Also sperm can live inside of you up to 5 days so if you want to avoid pregnancy, i suggest you use protection. Word to the wise. Pull out does not work, there is always precum releasing and precum does contain sperm. I know this because i have 3 boys. Ages 4yrs, 3yrs and 2yrs old. Two of those children were conceived by using the pull out method, the other was conceived from no protection as well.

Right after your period or right before your period are the safest times. Generally if you have a cycle of 28 days you ovulate around the 14th day after the first day of your period.

BUT.. there's always a chance your cycle will vary and you could get pregnant. I wouldn't risk it unless you get taught how to chart your cycle and discharge and temperature. Planned Parenthood will teach you if you wish.

this is extremely bizarre because of the fact analyze tutor that youthful/teen boys are much less susceptible to make sure female protagonists and female authors. area of JK Rowlings fulfillment is that she revealed below JK, and not JoAnne, subsequently no longer giving youthful male readers the 'turn off' of seeing a female author. Her substantial character is male. youthful girls will examine the two female or male protagonists so traditionally there has been much less emphasis on what appeals to them.

Never. You can play with rhythm method, but it's still a crap shoot. Either stay celibate or learn to use birth control responsibly if you are not ready to have a child.
