This one is a little tricky for me when it comes to relationship matters. Tonight I did a little three-card reading for myself in regard to a relationship issue. Should I tell someone something that's been on my mind. This wasn't a past-present-future; just asking advice about the situation. I laid out the Ace of Rods, the Four of Rods, and the Ace of Swords. I'd like to hear your thoughts on the Ace of Swords, and on the reading in general, if you're inclined. Thanks in advance.

Cards are upright. I don't use reversals.

Some responses....

=== My only motive is to get a feel for whether I should move on romantically, or if this can go further. I guess that is ulterior, in a way - a little selfish on my part.

=== We have known each other for many ears - most of it was on an acquaintance-type basis, though there was an initial spark. We've only started building a friendship over the past year, and then have taken a few bigger steps in the past month or two. So it's new, but not new, in a way.

The cards give a strong indication that you should go ahead with what you feel and believe to be right or true. It may be a struggle and not a one-sided victory, but it will give the beginnings to something new.

The Ace of Swords means a great force, and possibly a victory, but not without a sacrifice. (The sword is two edged.)

You don't specify if the cards are upright or inverted. Sorry, can't help you.
The ace of swords is an extremely powerful card and one which indicates that there is force beyond reason, being used. As far as the reading in general is concerned, I think you should have left well enough, alone. I believe that your motives are ulterior and you will live to suffer the consequences.

Aces indicate beginnings...Swords represent power, wands intellect...we need more cards to understand this better, flesh out the meanings more. Is this a new relationship? If so, it looks like your going to be dealing with a fairly serious power struggle over ideas in this relationship...One person expects things to be one way while the other person has a different idea of how things should be handled...
