Ok, I have been noticeing lately that i have werid mood swings alot of different times a day (at times im happy, sad, nervous, depressed) and it chages through out the day. Also, my idea about TONS of things change over time. sometimes many times a day.

I looked online and Bi-Polar come up.

Now, i have been told before by people who have bi-polar children that i am showing the same thing that there children showed. (no idea if that means anything)

But, to get to the point, i have the kind of parents that will only take you out of school if you pare pukeing up blood or broke an arm. I know she will not take me to the doctors. but i am scared and want to know if i am. i think i might be.

I need help on telling them . i am going to talk to my firend and mabye his mom tonight.

Thanks Joe

=since your parents tend to be that way and you are scared this is not helping matters. Go to your school guidance counselor and talk to them. They are there to help. You could also speak to the school nurse. There are medications that can help you. You are intelligent enough to realize you have a problem. Some would just fluff it off. I commend you. Now take it a step further and get some help. Good luck.

I'm bipolar. What you are describing doesn't sound like you are bipolar to me, it sounds more like a normal teenager. It is very normal for people to change moods several times a day, what makes you bipolar is more the extremes of your moods & switching back & forth between overly happy & feeling like life is perfect or better, & then for no reason life is so bad you can't see how you can go on another minute. You don't feel down, you feel like you don't want to live, you dont feel happy, you feel like life is really, really great. There isn't any reason for either mood it just happens. If your still worried you should talk to your parents, tell them that you are worried & feel like something could be wrong & that you would really like to see a Dr. If you are bipolar you need to be on medication, it really makes a differance. Good Luck!!!

Joe -
Tell your parents that you arent feeling normal. That you really want to see a doctor. Let them know that you are having crazy mood swings and you just to make sure that everything is normal.

Also, remember it could just be hormones.....you are, obviously, still in school. Your body & nerves & everything else is changing.

Dont be so quick to pick bi-polar, but a doctors visit never hurts anyone.

my ex-girlfriend was bipolar

go get checked out now

or you are going to regret not telling your parents to take you to the doctor

if you are bipolar and go untreated, your in for hell on earth, and you will ruin every relationship you have once the bipolar kicks in fullspeed

this is a mental disease. if you break your leg, wouldnt you go to the doctor? if your brain has a disease, dont you think you would go to a doctor?

if you talk to your parents and they say they wont take you to a doctor, slap them in the face and tell them i told you to say 'if you care for your child at all you will take your child to get tested or you will ruin their life single handedly'
