John McCain will be the '08 version of Howard Dean...they are gonna build him up and then tear him down...he has a slew of issues that America does not know about yet and his vicious temper will get the best of him at some point...you won't ever have the chance to vote for him beyond a republican primary

I wouldn't.
A few reasons:
- when I was a registered independent, I actually liked him; but, then I came to realize he was a smooth talker that just knows how to play the system. I realized this after taking an online survey that matched my stance on issues with politician's stance on issues. I was shocked when it had me less matched with McCain than even Bush. I clicked on the details part where you can see where they stand... bottom line is that McCain is farther to the right than even Bush and he is such a smooth talker, that you don't realize it.
- His wife is addicted to pain killers. Now don't get me wrong. I am not crashing on ppl that suffer from addictions. I am just not comfortable with a man that didn't realize his wife was a drug addict until 1996.
- His age and the fact that he has already had cancer. I would have to definitely like his vp.

Nope. He is more right wing than he will admit, except for campaign financing reform. He also is too much of a Bush-Rove sycophant. After they ran that false rumor in the 2000 primary in south or north Carolina about him allegedly fathering a mulatto child out of wedlock, he still defends them.
There have been moments when he has looked good. Under long term examination he does not hold up.

No, and neither will Republican Primary Voters. He'll get crushed like he did in '04 by the Christian Reicht. Just you wait and see.
It's a shame (well, not really) he could have truly stood up and been competitive against the Democrats.

You mean the guy who said, "Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno." What a funny guy! Is he going to star in "The Gay Wedding Crashers"? It seems that it matters less and less who gets the job these days. They all bomb for peace. Right now I'm thinking that I want Evan Bayh to run. I surely don't agree wtih him on everything, but he seems smart enough and realistic enough to be a good president. So my answer is probably not. Doesn't he have cancer?

John McCain or Hillary Clinton, that's picking the lesser of the two evils, I'm scared. That's like asking me to pick between a Democrat or a Rhino, I may go Rhino, but no promises.

McCain is a self admitted liar and spineless politician who has little allegiance to any cause. They put him up and they will lose big time just like they did with poor Dole.
