Very good question. This is our common problem. But the answer to your question need a lot of explanation and details I will try to be specific.
We have a mind, we divide it in to Conscious mind and subconscious mind. Then we have short term memory and long term memory. If you put things in short term memory it is gone but if you keep in long term memory it will remain there.
I don't know if you have ever heard of Mind Map, the best thing to memorize is to associate, suppose you want to memorize a formula, a formula could be of Algebra,Maths,Statistics or Science. Why we learn song easily(not everyone) because of rhythm. So associate anything in your mind map.
There is a whole system for study that is called speed learning. if you are really interested let me know then I will inform you by e-mail. Because it will take time. You can send me e-mail at: nihon94@yahoo.com
Thanks

Try to memorizing one formula at a time. Once you get one down, start working on another one but keep practicing the first one too. Try to understand what the formula is telling you and what are the actual worlds that each letter stands for. Remember: practice makes perfect!
