you fill out the form, attach the rebate and mail them in. They take anywhere from 6-8 weeks to mail the check. So about the time you forget about them, the checks show up lol

Every mail in rebate has a different list of steps you must take in order to get your money. Pay close attention, because if you miss a step, they will not give you your rebate. The details on the waiting period also vary. I have seen them take up to 12 weeks to process your rebate. Basically, you will wait a while to get your money, and they do this knowing that many people will not be patient enough to go through the process. Most rebates ask for copies of the sales receipt, an original proof of purchase from the box, along with a form you must fill out and possibly highlight or circle certain items on the receipt or form. Just pay attention to the details and be patient.

I've gotten rebates back from Home Depot in 2 weeks and others in 6 weeks, BUT I'm still waiting for a rebate from Dell, which has been 5 MONTHS, so if you're thinking about buying a computer, I'll warn you to think. I'd say 4-6 weeks is very typical.

Most of the time mail in rebates includes you making photo copies of your reciept and sending in the upc code and filling out some rebate forms. It usually takes about 6-8 weeks to get your check.

Don't buy anything that requires a 'rebate'. It is a total sales gimmick, and IF you ever get it, it will take months. Tell the sales person you will only buy the item at the rebated price. They will often agree, especially on 'big ticket' items.

If everyone would refuse to buy items with a mail-in rebate they would go away and they would not be able to rip us off anymore.

Don't trust all rebates. I sent a rebate to SanDisk company about four months ago, and I haven't received any check yet.

You mail in your proof of purchase (a receipt or UPC code) and a form they give you. It can take anywhere for 4 to 8 weeks. Although I have gotten some back sooner.
